Chen Voon is the Chief Operating Officer of GRC Consulting Services Sdn Bhd (GRCCS).  He specialises in Governance, Risk and Compliance("GRC") and Business Continuity Management ("BCM") services.

Prior to joining GRCCS, Chen Voon was a practitioner and the Chief Risk Officer and General Manager of a government statutory body for approximately 2.5 years. He was tasked with the responsibility to manage Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and BCM in the government statutory body and to ensure that it is able to resume its operations during a disruptive event or disaster.

As a consultant, Chen Voon has more than 18 years of experience in providing consulting and assurance services, focusing on BCM, ERM, Internal Audit, Corporate Governance, Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX") Section 404, Statutory Audit and Financial Due Diligent Review to GLCs, MNCs, private and public-listed companies in Malaysia and abroad. His consulting and assurance experience includes:

• leading BCM engagements organisation resilient for government agencies and GLCs in establishing BCM policy, framework, plans and simulation exercises as well as building up organisational resilient in handling disruptive events or disasters;

• leading engagements in the establishment and implementation of ERM framework on a corporate-wide basis; and assisting the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Management in ensuring that the significant risks are being consistently and continuously identified, assessed, managed, monitored and reported on;

• leading assessments on the adequacy of public listed company's Corporate Governance practices, including identifying any gaps for future action; and ascertaining the extent of compliance against the prescriptions of the Code on Corporate Governance;

• leading internal audit engagements on outsource and co-source basis. He is also accredited by the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. US to perform Internal Quality Assessment/Validation for Internal Audit function; and

• involving in various corporate exercises, including preparing accountants' report for submission to the Securities Commission and financial due diligence reviews.

Chen Voon is a Subject Matter Expert in BCM and is one of the first Malaysians who qualifies as an Approved BCI Instructor approved by The BCI, UK. He is a regular guest speaker / instructor invited to deliver talks and trainings in seminars and conferences on GRC and BCM related topics locally and abroad (such as in Beijing, Chicago, London and Shanghai). He was also a columnist for a locally published magazine, writing on ERM-related topics until October 2010.

Chen Voon began his career as an external auditor and subsequently as a consultant in Internal Audit and ERM when he joined one of the big four Accounting Firms at its Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Taipei, Taiwan offices. His countries of experience include China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam
