Abdul Wahab Bakar has more than 35 years of substantive corporate experience covering both local corporations and multinational companies ranging from airlines, oil & gas, mining, financial institution and food & beverage (manufacturing & retail). Whilst HR management is his focus/anchor, his last 13 years involvement as a member of the Executive Committee of a multinational company, has exposed him to the running of the business and participated in the formulation of its strategic direction. He spent his career abroad working in Australia and was part of the team in the formation of a global blueprint for organisational changes in Switzerland.

Wahab speaks at local and international forum on HR management and represents employer at the meetings and sharing sessions in Singapore, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Brussels, Switzerland, China, India and Fiji.
He is currently a Vice President of Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) and serves as Board Members of few companies. He also serves as Business/Corporate/Human Capital Advisor to few other companies.

Upon retirement from active corporate service, he is a Freelance Consultant and Executive Coach. Whilst he is the subject matter expert in the whole gamut of HR management, his forte is on Change & Performance Management, Talent Management & Development and Executive Coaching & Mentoring.

Wahab is also the co-author of the book “Your Dream Job” published in 2009.

Wahab’s main accomplishments during 35 years of Corporate experience in the Airlines, Oil & Gas, Mining, Financial, Manufacturing & Retails as follows:

Industrial Relations: He has negotiated successfully several collective bargaining agreements; established terms and conditions of employment for staff locally and abroad - Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam and India; and formulate Employee Relations Policy and establish framework for training and education initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits: Wahab has initiated position evaluation and conversion of merit based salary programme; established position grading for Offshore Division (Upstream petroleum activities); harmonized terms and conditions of employment of several companies; and revised of Management Classification and realignment of staff benefits.
Human Resource Information System: He has developed and established in house HRIS; established Business Area Requirement Analysis, Business Transaction Analysis and Process Work Flow for HRIS; and established HR information tracking system and Key Performance Indicator/Benchmarking;
OD &Training Development: Wahab has developed and implemented OD intervention game plan; facilitated change management processes; established framework for competency based training & development;
and initiated the development of 'skill block/core training' programmes.
